APAL owns a marketing and IP management company, Coregeo (UK), and has a share in the plant breeding company Prevar.
Coregeo Ltd specialises in the management of intellectual property (IP) and in providing trade representation and consumer marketing services in the fresh produce industry. Coregeo was established in 1999 to offer IP management services in the increasingly important and highly specialised fresh produce area.
Coregeo has developed and applied three major competencies to assist clients at every stage of the fresh produce supply chain from plant breeders and growers through to major retailers.
Administration
Coregeo offers a full IP administration service from the development and implementation of appropriate and enforceable Licences, through compliance supervision to the invoicing and collection of Royalties and Fees.
Technical Compliance
An essential element of IP protection is consistent monitoring and management of product compliance to specification. Coregeo retains considerable industry experience and product knowledge allowing it to advise and assist in the development of appropriate product specifications and to offer a continuing monitoring and reporting service.
Trade and Consumer Marketing
By its nature this is the most public of the Coregeo competencies. Coregeo is respected internationally for its ability both as trade marketers and consumer marketers. This covers strategy development through to programme planning and execution.
