Subsidiary Companies

Apple and Pear Australia Ltd has two fully owned subsidiary companies that support the Australian apple and pear industry.

The Australian Pome Fruit Improvement Program aims to supply certified pome fruit planting material to Australian growers while Coregeo manages the Pink Lady™ and Sundowner™ brands in the United Kingdom.

Australian Apple and Pear Growers Association Inc established APFIP in February 1997 to benefit the Australian pome fruit (apple and pear) industry.

It is a not-for-profit company with the following objectives:

  • To make available in Australia pome fruit propagation material from around the world with characteristics that will benefit commercial pome fruit production in Australia;
  • To develop and promote independent evaluation of pome fruit trees and rootstock for the pome fruit industry in Australia;
  • To develop and promote standards for pome fruit propagation material that will assist the international competitiveness of the Australian pome fruit industry.

Coregeo
Coregeo

Coregeo Ltd specialises in the management of intellectual property (IP) and in providing trade representation and consumer marketing services in the fresh produce industry. Established in 1999 to offer IP management services in this increasingly important and highly specialised area, it has developed and applied four major competencies to assist clients at every stage of the fresh produce supply chain from plant breeders and growers through to major retailers.
