Australian apple growers are struggling to make a living as low prices for produce in a softening market takes its toll, according to Apple & Pear Australia Limited (APAL) managing director Jon Durham.

Jon Durham and APAL chairman John Lawrenson, who have been meeting with Australian apple growers recently as part of a national tour to engage with the industry, said the challenges facing Australian growers are not unique to the area with many across all states feeling the effects of a drop in consumer demand.
